PRESIDENT OF MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY – PhD IGOR GOR NOVAKOVIC AND GENEREAL SECRETARY - IVAN JOVANOVIC

The continuance of Constituent session of Palilula Municipal Assembly was held on Saturday July 14 in the hall of NKC, beginning at 19 00 hours. At the beginning of the session, the verification of the mandates of three councilors was completed of new session of Assembly from SPS –PUPS-JS –Aleksandar Milic and Milos Stojkovic and from the list of Democratic Party of Serbia DSS Dimitanka Rancic Djordjevic. With the decision of the majority of votes of the members of Assembly 25 for and 5 against after the secret voting for the president of Municipal Assembly was elected PhD Igor Novakovic, so far president of Palilula Municipality, SPS list.

` I would like to thank you all who voted for me, emphasized new president of Assembly, taking over the presiding of the session`. After the proposition of the Assembly president Novakovic, Ivan Jovanovic, lawyer, was elected for the position of general secretary, who also had the same duty and position during the former mandate. For the election of the general secretary, elected by majority of votes publicly, voted 19 councilors, 4 were against and two restrained votes. The councilors of Constituting session of the Assembly unanimously brought the decision on formation of Commission for immunity mandate issues. Milan Stevanovic, DSS, was elected for the president of this Commission. At the end of this session, PhD Igor Novakovic addressed to the councilors `I would like to thank all the members of the Assembly, president of the Assembly Milan Djurdjevic and Ivan Jovanovic, secretary of the Assembly from former mandate, on great mutual cooperation. We tried to be one team and we tried not tom be divided according to our political opinions and parties, we tried to work for the interests of the people from Palilula and City of Nis. I think that we succeeded in that – emphasized Novakovic. To future president I would like to only wish to continue with `peaceful coexistence` in leading Municipality where there is not much politics, but only lot of work. Novakovic thanked to their councilors from the former mandate and estimated their work as very constructive. I will try, said new Assembly president, to convey this atmosphere to the councilors of new mandate of Palilula Assembly.
